RNLI visit to Cornwell Court

Brian, a volunteer with the RNLI came to visit Cornwell Court this week. He gave an interesting talk on how the Institute started and progressed to the service it is today. Naturally, Brian told us water safety tips. We saw photos of the boats used around the country and video clips of some rescues. The statistics of call outs was surprising and alarming.  The local one was even called out on Christmas Day!

We presented Brian with a £200 cheque to the RNLI, money donated from the residents.  He has invited us to visit the Lifeboat Station at Eastney, so that’s the next thing to organise.
